The In Situ Sonores project is back, this time led by the three members of Magnétophonie: Chloé Truchon, Aurélien Bertini, and Olivier Toulemonde.
The three artists spread out across five elementary schools to invite students to explore their surroundings through their senses: from the sound of cars to passersby in front of the school, and even through poetry, the students were able to experiment with and discover the art of sound.
Their creations were presented in a sound performance.
Action
An arts education project supported by the DRAC Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the City of Besançon, and the DRAEAC, as part of the City of Besançon’s cultural programs.
Biographie
Magnétophonie is a trio of sound artists from Doubs, consisting of Chloé Truchon, Olivier Toulemonde, and Aurélien Bertini.
Aurélien Bertini and Chloé Truchon have worked together for a long time at Radio Campus. During the 5th edition of Bien Urbain, they also designed an urban cabin as a sound machine that captures stories: Sonomation.
Olivier Toulemonde has musical training in various instruments and has performed in concerts in the past, before focusing on “sound” as Magnétophonie understands it.
This isn’t the first year that the Besançon-based artist has participated in Bien Urbain; his installation made entirely of pipes was featured at the 7th edition of the Bien Urbain festival: Conduites.
For the 12th edition of Bien Urbain, the three of them conceived the project À la volée, which offered a unique way to explore public spaces through sound.
