Description
To celebrate their 50th anniversary, the CDN Besançon Franche-Comté called on Juste Ici to help them blow out their candles. We invited Simone Découpe to take over the walls of the theatre with this stencil mural on the outside wall of the theatre.
Action
On Saturday 10 December, the CDN Besançon Franche-Comté celebrated its 50th anniversary. This was an opportunity for the people of Besançon to (re)discover the theatre through various activities: unusual and poetic visits of the theatre, a show, a quiz, and of course the cake and candles.
Juste Ici wanted to take part in this anniversary by inviting the artist Simone Découpe to take over one of the theatre’s exterior walls. She created Billebaude, a 7m x 7m stencil fresco, inspired by jiǎnzhǐ, the Chinese paper cuts whose main motifs are animals.
