Description
Artist Ninon Epalle-Linde spent three weeks in residence at Juste Ici to create her artwork, which was installed on the Doubs River during the fourth edition of the La Petite Boucle event.
Before setting sail, this floating village was built with the help of about thirty volunteers who, over the course of two weeks, assembled, cut out, and painted crates. Ninon then transported the artwork using her favorite mode of transportation: the bicycle.
Made entirely from recycled materials, this poetic artwork allowed us to see a village floating peacefully. For a moment, it made us want to move there, snug and warm in the thatched cottages with the illusion of a fire burning.
Thank you to Ninon, the volunteers, and the team for this original creation and this unique mode of transport!

Biographie
Ninon Epalle-Linde is just as comfortable building objects as she is rafting or biking. Through her creations, this artist from Besançon seeks to occasionally transport us out of our daily lives. To achieve this, she does not hesitate to position the viewer as a witness rather than a mere visitor, thanks to her art, which naturally gravitates toward spaces that feel alive.
She moves away from the lifestyles we are familiar with to embrace and champion a philosophy centered on resourcefulness and hands-on creation, which allows her to explore a wide variety of forms and ideas. Ninon lets her creativity take flight and gives non-motorized transportation a prominent place in her artistic work.
