Description
In 2011 a group of friends decided to follow their passion for art on the streets. Being inspired by a global “street art” phenomenon, they started their own event in the small neighborhood of Besancon. Perhaps they were too young, inexperienced and very starry-eyed but one thing we know for a fact – this group was driven by a strong desire to create. To create not just everywhere or elsewhere but specifically in Besançon, at the place they knew best.
Over the decade this event became known as one of the most respective and long-standing festivals in the field of urban art. But what makes it so special?
“Juste Ici et Pas Ailleurs” is a documentary that explores ten years of the Bien Urbain festival in order to understand how something so inherently local could make a difference in the urban art as a whole.
Incorporating archives, numerous interviews and never-before-seen footage, this documentary doesn’t act as simple chronicles of an event. It rather attempts to look at Bien Urbain from a global perspective, approaching every stage of the festival’s evolution in relation to the main themes encircling the very nature of art in the public space.

Premiere on Sunday 18 June at the Kursaal, as part of Bien Urbain – Cinéma Les 2 Scènes
A story about Bien Urbain is very honest, since it tells about failures alongside moments of success. Through ups and downs, struggles and constant changes, the festival became exactly what it is today: so utterly different but nonetheless the same.

Biographie
MZM PROJECTS is a group of independent video artists focused on researching and documenting creative practices in the city. It was formed by Kristina Borhes and Nazar Tymoshchuk in Ukraine around 2015. The main objective of this group is storytelling in a very particular way: “We try to capture the essence of what is visible, combined with personal experience with an artistic approach. We want to convey raw emotion, we want to seduce and mystify” (MZM PROJECTS)
