Description
For this new part of 2021, it is with the CDN of Besançon that we have invited the artist OXI from Besançon, to create a mural on the walls of the theater. Taking over from the collage made a year earlier by the TANK Atelier duo, this painting gives us a reinterpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, revisited in the OXI style!
Action
Our team made its comeback, with meetings at the Guinguette Contre-Attaque of the CDN Besançon Franche-Comté! It is in partnership with the theater that we proposed on Saturday, September 4, 2021, 3 events around the place of the woman in the art in public space: the “opening” of OXI’s mural, a “spectacular course” given by Hortense Belhôte known for her videos “Thank you not to touch!” on Arte (french channel), and to finish, a round table animated by these same artists, accompanied by other speakers.
Biography
Graffiti artist, OXI tests new techniques and sizes. She questions – sometimes by ricochets – the subject of women in the public space. Her appearing naive and colorful characters often carry an ambiguous, provocative and humorous message. Her place as a street artist provokes “gendered” reactions, but the symbols evoked by her chimeras – especially the big female pigs she likes – also raise questions. Is it the graffiti that disturbs, what it tells, or the gender of the person who creates it?
