Description
Place du 8 Septembre, on the side of the bus shelter, an advertising screen addresses passers-by. But instead of the usual colourful, animated and fleeting advertisements, short texts, static in green on a black background, remain displayed for a long time.
‘I am watching you,’ ‘I am listening to your footsteps,’ ‘I appreciate your presence’…
Martin Le Chevallier’s work addresses passers-by through short, static texts in green on a black background.
The screen confides in us, expressing its feelings and telling us things about ourselves, our habits, our doubts… It talks to us about the collection of our data, which is usually used by this type of advertising billboard, and all the intimate knowledge that retailers would like to have about our lives.
